U Mobile rolls out WeChat Go Malaysia Mini program for visitors from China

U Mobile has teamed up with WeChat to deploy two mini programs within their eponymous WeChat mobile app dubbed WeChat Go Malaysia Mini and the Pavilion KL Mini. Together these two apps aim to offer a curated experience for visitors from China visiting Malaysia.

The WeChat Go Malaysia Mini program acts as a travel companion on all things Malaysia for visitors from China with critical information on interesting attractions, tasty food, useful factoids on culture and, naturally, the best shopping venues in town. Currently the app covers 8 cities in Malaysia with more to come as Visit Malaysia 2020 approaches.

Users of the app can also pay for services provided in the app in RMB such as the ability to pay for KLIA Express tickets ahead of time, tickets to tourist attractions and even bus tickets.

Once purchased, users simply need to show their QR code for passage. This partnership with the WeChat Go Malaysia Mini program and U Mobile also acts as a means to promote Malaysia to tourists in China.
