The Sony LSPX-S1 speaker is made of glass and class

The vast majority of speakers come in a boxy looking shape that follows function over form but Sony’s new Life Space series speakers and their latest addition to the line, the LSPX-S1 Glass Sound Speaker is as much a work of art as it is a powerful omni-directional speaker.

The whole affair is a cylindrical tube of glass with an LED that mimics candlelight without the commensurate potential risk of accidental arson and combines a 50mm woofer, a passive radiator at the base to kick out sound in all directions. The genius aspect of its design here is that said glass cylinder acts as a tweeter as well. The Sony LSPX-S1 Glass Sound Speaker plays tunes wirelessly off a paired device, has NFC and supports all aptX, LDAC, AAC and SBC codecs.

The whole affair runs on an internal rechargeable battery that offers about 4 hours of usage which is plenty for a dinner or night time engagement before needing a juicing. The LSPX-S1 Glass Sound Speaker is available at all good retailers nationwide as well as the Sony Store located at KLCC and the Curve for RM3,199.
