All right trivia fans. When it comes to national emblems, we’re familiar with the more obvious ones like the Russian bear and the American eagle but did you know that the Gallic rooster is the emblem for France? Well, shout us on pub quiz night if you do win lads but on that note, SevenFriday is releasing a limited edition T1/01 Cocorico that embodies the spirit of the Gallic rooster, and, of course, France itself.
This new timepiece features a TM1 NH70 automatic movement by Seiko that has a 40-hour power reserve ensconced within a stainless steel (316L) bezel and a sandblasted PVD case embellished with blue Berlac lacquer. The dial details are breathtakingly intricate with a gradient blue semi-transparent dial and printing relief in France’s national colours along with a unique crafted caricature of an extremely cool rooster wearing sunglasses at the 3 ‘o’clock position.
The straps are made of a dark denim with rooster footsteps embossed in a unique pattern across them and the timepiece is presented in a gorgeous looking case in blue trim. In order to ensure authenticity, the underside of the SevenFriday Cocorico T1/01 has an NFC chip on the underside as proof that it is one of the 450 examples of the watch currently in existence.
