Samsung Galaxy Fold now up for preorders priced at RM8388

Samsung’s vaunted Galaxy Fold phone that is able to deploy from a compact phone form factor into a 7.3-inch tablet will be available in Malaysia soon as they have opened up preorder bookings for the phone while also announcing how much it costs. Owning  the most innovative phone that Samsung has in their arsenal will cost you RM8,388.

While the initial deployment of the phone was much earlier in May, Samsung delayed the launch to reinforce and enhance the Galaxy Fold’s hinges and also redesigned the protective layer of their folding display. The tweaked version of the Galaxy Fold looks elegant indeed and has a feel more akin to a luxury timepiece with smooth edges and a beautifully finished hinge mechanism that opens and closes with a luxuriously smooth motion.

In Malaysia, the Galaxy Fold is up for preorders at their website starting from 9 October 2019 and at official retailers nationwide at the aforementioned price of RM8,388 in your choice of either Cosmos Black or Space Silver. Preorder buyers can pick up their phones on 16 October 2019 and while are no preorder goodies so to speak but you will get access to specialised customer care services that include on-on-one access to tech support and 24/7 hub support for the Galaxy Fold for extra peace of mind.

To refresh your memory, the Galaxy Fold in its undeployed configuration has a 4.5-inch HD+ Super AMOLED display and looks pretty much like a chunky phone. Flip it open like a book and you get to see a 7.3-inch QXGA+ Dynamic AMOLED display. Apps used and seen on the smaller display will natively port over to the larger one and vice versa.

The phone also has a multitude of camera with a rear triple camera array (16-MP +12-MP wide angle + 12-MP with 2X zoom), a front dual camera (10-MP + 8-MP depth camera) and a 10-MP cover camera. Running under the hood is a Snapdragon 855 processor with 12GB RAM and 512GB of storage while the 4,380mAh battery offers enough juice to last more than a day.
