ROG Strix Nyjah Huston Special Edition laptop is official custom job for champion skateboarder
Professional skateboarder Nyjah Huston is a name known to many in professional skateboarding circles, but he’s taking a big step up in the world as ASUS Republic of Gamers have crafted a concept gaming laptop exclusively for him dubbed the ROG Strix Nyjah Huston Special Edition.
Based on the ROG Strix SCAR series, the ROG Strix Nyjah Huston Special Edition is built off a Strix SCAR 17 gaming laptop that has been customised with a one-of-a-kind design.
This customisation even extends to the packaging. Externally, the ROG Strix Nyjah Huston Special Edition packaging opens up and doubles as a skate park for fingerboards and they toss in two of them for free in the box.
ROG has also tossed in a slew of unique kit to complement the ROG Strix Nyjah Huston Special Edition that include a ROG Strix Impact II mouse with a skull pattern emblazoned on the top and sides and a custom bag to hold it in.
Externally, the ROG Strix Nyjah Huston Special Edition features elements that harken to urban concrete structures with Nyjah Huston’s personal heraldry on the top lid with a textured finish and RGB backlighting reminiscent of a ‘katana cut’ slash. The corner Armor Cap features a custom variant with a stainless steel finish that makes it highly unique. Added to this is the replacement of one of the rubber underside studs into a steel one for easier one-handed repositioning.
This customisation further extends to the interior with a translucent chassis on the keyboard deck and underside. Even the keyboard gets tricked out with a custom font complete with a quaint skull on the 0 key and Huston’s own logo on the numlock button as well as a semi-transparent finish on each key give each one a circular backlighting effect.
Bar the customised aesthetics, the ROG Strix Nyjah Huston Special Edition is effective an ROG Strix SCAR 17 under the hood which is tricked out to the nines with a 17.3-inch FHD 300Hz display with 3ms response time, up to an Intel i9010980HK and up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 GPU.
