ASUS teams up with Gameloft to enhance 4 mobile titles on ROG Phone 3 and TwinView Dock 3

The ASUS ROG Phone 3 is effectively one of the most powerful, gaming-focused smartphones in service today with its 144Hz display, Snapdragon 865+ CPU and other beefy hardware but ASUS and Gameloft aim to take things up a notch as they’re enhancing 4 mobile game titles to take full advantage of the ROG Phone 3 and its unique ROG TwinView Dock 3 dual-screen accessory.

The 4 announced titles that will have an enhanced experience are Asphalt 9: Legends, Modern Combat 5: Blackout, Dungeon Hunter 5 and Dungeon Hunter Champions, all of which are Gameloft titles.

All these 4 titles will get an FPS increase to take advantage of the 144Hz/1ms display on the ROG Phone 3 and will have increased functionality to take advantage of the secondary dual screen. This additional functionality and enhanced FPS are specific to the RPG Phone 3 and the TwinView Dock 3 which makes the phone all the more enticing to gamers.

ASUS ROG Phone 3 Price and Availability Like its predecessors, the ASUS ROG Phone 3 and ROG Phone 3 Strix Edition will come with a bevy of accessories to augment it at launch. Both variants are the same size so they’re interchangeable as the only differences are primarily storage and RAM for both variants. By default, the ROG Phone 3 and ROG Phone 3 Strix Edition will ship with the ROG Aero Case casing that protects it from dings and dents along with a free AeroActive Cooler 3 that has a built-in cooling fan to give it an extra bit of cooling power during intensive gaming sessions. This time around, they’re issuing the Aero case in several different colours versus the standard plain black with a translucent peach finish as one possible colour choice. ROG is also issuing a Kunai gamepad 3 that gives it dimensions akin to a Nintendo Switch and access to D-pads and a gamepad. Alternatively, you can prop the ROG Phone 3 up and just use the Kunai 3 Gamepad on its own like a controller. The phone will also have a TwinView Dock 3 that has a secondary display to give it functionality akin to a Nintendo DS. At its global announcement, ASUS Malaysia has confirmed that the ROG Phone 3 and the ROG Phone 3 Strix Edition will launch in Malaysia with availability sometime in mid-September with prices similar to when the ROG Phone 2 and ROG Phone 2 Strike launched last year. At launch in 2019, the ROG Phone 2 Strix edition with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage retailed for RM2,499 and which should be analogous to the ROG Phone Strix Edition with 8GB RAM and 256GB of storage. The ROG Phone 2 with 12GB RAM and 512GB storage retailed for RM3,499 so the ROG Phone 3 should be very close to this price tag. There will also be an ROG Phone 3 with 16GB RAM and 512GB storage though there’s no direct analogue to its predecessors as the priciest version of the ROG Phone 2 that corresponds to it cost RM4,499 and had 12GB RAM with 1TB storage. If we’re on the money, this premium version of the ROG Phone 3 should be priced around this region. To sum it up - the following three ROG phone variants are confirmed for Malaysia - all of which have 5G modems: -ROG Phone Strix 3 8GB RAM/256GB storage -ROG Phone 3 12GB RAM/ 512GB storage -ROG Phone 3 16GB RAM/512GB storage
