Realme launches the realme 5 and realme 5 Pro in Malaysia with quad cameras from RM599

One of Malaysia’s youngest smartphone brands are redefining the concept of value with their newly launched realme 5 and realme 5 Pro in Malaysia that come with quad cameras, solid specifications and massive batteries at very affordable prices.

The new realme 5 and realme 5 Pro both sport a swanky new geometric diamond-shaped diamond patterned finish alternating reflective and matte finishes that makes it look very polished indeed. Here’s how they stack up and how much they cost…

The realme 5 is their most affordable smartphone ever with a large 6.5-inch 1,600 x 720 pixel display with a mini drop cutout up top, a Snapdragon 665 2.0GHz processor built on an 11nm process running their latest ColorOS 6.0 and Android 9.0 Pie. The realme 5 comes in two different storage configurations – 3GB RAM/64GB and 4GB RAM/128GB expandable storage. 

Both storage variants come with realme’s first AI quad camera array which a 12-MP primary camera, an 8-MP 119-degree ultra wide-angle lens, a 2-MP macro lens and a 2-MP depth sensor. The front sports a 13-MP selfie camera and the whole affair is powered by a 5,000mAh processor.

In Malaysia, the realme 5 is available in your choice of the aforementioned two storage configurations with the 3GB RAM/64GB storage version retailing for RM599 and the 4GB RAM/128GB storage version for RM799 in your choice of either Crystal Blue or Crystal Purple.

The realme 5 Pro packs the best hardware that the brand has to offer is a successor to the earlier realme 3 Pro. The phone takes the pole position in its price range with a humongous 6.3-inch 2,340 x 1080 pixel LCD with a mini drop cutout on top, the Snapdragon 712 octacore processor, 8GB RAM and 128GB of expandable storage running ColorOS 6.0 and Android Pie  9.0.

The rear AI quad camera array consists of a 48-MP camera with the potent Sony IMX 586 sensor, an 8-MP 119-degree ultrawide angle lens camera, a 2-MP macro camera and a fourth 2-MP depth sensor. The front comes with a 16-MP selfie camera with a Sony IMX471 sensor. The realme 5 Pro is powered by a 4,035mAh battery that supports VOOC 3.0 Flash Charge tech and best of all, it has the required charger bundled with the phone.

In Malaysia, the realme 5 Pro come in your choice of Crystal Green or Sparkling Blue for RM1,099.

Where and when can you buy the realme 5 and realme 5 Pro?

The realme 5 and realme 5 Pro will be sold exclusively on Lazada. The realme 5 will be available starting 17 October 2019.
