Realme 3 launched in Malaysia for RM599
OPPO’s affordable sub-brand Realme is expanding their offerings in Malaysia with another addition to their lineup dubbed the Realme 3 which comes with a dewdrop notch up top in order to cram in a large display and along with a bevy of other tech including a rear dual camera array.
Externally, the Realme 3 is hewn of plastic but uses gradient finish as a colour option. On top of the usual standard Classic Black paint job you can also opt to get it in Dynamic Black or Radiant Blue. The Dynamic Black finish is rather unusual with a light ocean blue hue fading into a deep black as you head up. The Radiant Blue is a lighter shade of metallic blue segueing into a deeper ocean blue with a more reflective finish.
There’s quite a bit of heft too with the Realme 3 on account of the generously sized 4,230mAh battery built into the phone that should be able to offer better than a day’s worth of battery life and which is charged via a microUSB port at the base of the phone. Traditionalists will also appreciate the fact that the Realme 3 still retains a 3.5mm audio jack for wired listening.
The specifications for the Realme 3 put it as an entry-level to midrange phone with a 6.2-inch HD+ display with the aforementioned notch up front to offer up a screen-to-body ratio of 88.3%, a MediaTek Helio P60 2.0GHz octacore processor running Android 9.0 Pie and either 3GB RAM/ 32GB storage or 4GB RAM / 64GB of expandable storage.
The rear camera consists of a primary 13-MP f/1.8 camera paired up with a 2-MP depth sensor while the front has a 13-MP f/2.0 selfie camera. Perched beside the camera is a rounded fingerprint sensor. Both front and rear cameras are capable of 1080P video capture too.
In Malaysia, Realme is offering the Realme 3 at a pricetag of RM599 for the 3GB RAM/32GB variant and RM699 for the 4GB RAM/64GB in all three of the aforementioned colours Classic Black, Dynamic Black and Radiant Blue starting April 6 2019 at all good retailers nationwide.
