Externally, the Honor 6X is a midrange phone that comes with a machined unibody aluminium casing in gray, gold or silver that is 8.2mm thin and weighing 162g. Crammed into this relatively svelte casing is a 5.5-inch 1080P display with 403ppi, their HiSilicon 16nm FinFet Kirin 655 octacore processor which pairs a quartet of 2.1GHz cores and a quartet of 1.7GHz cores together, 3GB RAM and 32GB of expandable storage  via a hybrid SIM card slot. A higher end 4GB RAM and 64GB storage space is also available. The phone runs Android Marshmallow 6.0 overlaid with their EMUI 4.1 user interface. The rear camera is unique in that it takes a leaf from Huawei’s higher end P9 series and the Honor 8 in that it comes with a pair of cameras for better detail and depth of field in snaps; this is the first time a dual rear camera setup has been seen on a midrange workhorse. A 12-MP camera is paired with a 2-MP camera to offer an aperture range between F/0.95 to F/16, with the ability to capture up to 1080P video and 3,968 x 2,976 pixel resolution snaps. Phase detection autofocus allows for swift autofocus times for the rear camera array while the rear camera has a large 1.25 micro pixel size on the sensor to offer much better image quality under most lighting conditions. Located just beneath the dual rear camera is a rounded fingerprint reader. The front comes with an 8-MP selfie camera.

One particularly unique feature for the Honor 6X is that it is able to create a portable Wi-Fi hotspot with up to 4 devices dubbed a Wi-Fi Bridge so it can act as a Wi-Fi repeater. You can also use it as a cutout to prevent people directly accessing a Wi-Fi connection by using the Honor 6X’s Wi-Fi Bridge. Sweet.
