Neffos X1 Lite launches in Malaysia for RM499

Networking equipment purveyor TP-LInk’s Neffos range of smartphones made waves earlier on this year with their range of circa-RM1000 smartphones in the form of the Neffos X1 and X1 Max that made their debut in Malaysia to the tune of a series of high-profile celebrity endorsements with Malaysian singer Fazura. They’re now looking to shake things up again with a more affordable and lighter variant of the X1 that they’ve dubbed the Neffos X1 Lite.

The phone runs Android 7.0 and comes with a 5-inch HD display with 294ppi sheathed in curved 2.5D glass, a MediaTek MT6750 octacore processor that integrates a quarter of 1.53GHz Cortex A53 cores and another quartet of A53 cores clocked at 1.0GHz along with an ARM Mali T860 GPU as well as 2GB RAM.

Storage needs are sorted out with 16GB of onboard storage augmented by a dual hybrid SIM card/microSD card slot.

The rear camera has a single 13-MP sensor with an LED flash, an F/2.0 aperture and phase detection autofocus with the ability to lock on to a subject in 0.2 seconds akin to the larger Neffos X1. Perched just below the camera is a fingerprint reader that also enables you to snag selfies by simply placing a digit on it. The front integrates a 5-MP selfie camera with a wide-angle lens for group shots and a Beauty mode that tweaks your mugs in real time. The built-in 2,550mAh battery has quick charge support and is rated for about 16 hours of talk time.

All this is crammed into a machined unibody aluminium casing that comes in either Cloudy Grey or Sunrise Gold.

The Neffos X1 Lite is now available for RM499 on Lazada and authorised dealers nationwide.
