Logitech G335 review – Comfy Wired Gaming Headset

The Logitech G335 wired gaming headset aims to be a trendy pair of cans that offer a decent amount of performance for what you pay for. At RM269, it’s certainly among the more affordable of branded headsets but how does it sound? Here’s our Logitech G335 review where we see if it’s worth the money.

As the latest addition to their Logitech G Color Collection, the  Logitech G335 wired gaming headset aims to be a trendy and contemporary alternative to their more staid and business-oriented offerings

In Malaysia, you get your choice of two colourways – a mostly black finish with a bluish purple fabric elastic headband strap or, in the case of our Logitech G335 wired gaming headset review sample, a milky white with aquamarine blue upholstered cans and a matching coloured headband strap.

Logitech G335 Review – Build and Design

The Logitech G335 wired gaming headset is primarily made of plastic with some degree of flexibility and fit afforded by an elastic fabric headband strap that suspends the weight of the whole affair on your bonce.

While it does look plasticky, the nature of its materials means that it’s also rather light at 240g and the elastic strap means that it’s capable of fitting onto most heads. However, more discerning users may not be able to get as precise a fit as the fabric strap and the rest of the G335 is not adjustable though it should fit all but the largest or smallest heads.

Each headphone comes with a 40mm neodymium driver and cups upholstered in fabric. Unlike some competing options that cover it in a faux leather finish that tends to flake off over time, the fabric headband strap in the G335  will stay intact though it also will have a tendency to absorb sweat over time which makes it a Faustian bargain.

The control setup is rudimentary at best with a volume dial on the left can along with a flip down mike that mutes when you flip it up and turns on when you flip it down. It also features a non-removable 3.5mm cable. However, if you aim to make use of in-game comms on a PC, you’ll need to use the provided Y-splitter.

In terms of overall build quality and design, it’s admittedly somewhat plasticky but it’s also comfortable to use for extended periods of time. Should the existing elastic headband colours not quite appeal, you can also purchase others from Logitech.

Logitech G335  Review – Performance

When put to the test the Logitech G335 wired gaming headset offered serviceable sound quality for day to day use, casual gaming and movie watching duties when we jacked it into a PC.

The 40mm drivers offered a fair amount of volume but bass and detail were somewhat underwhelming. This is exacerbated by the lack of an accompanying app to tweak its sound signature. The provided microphone is adequate for video call duties with relatively clear voice quality.

On the bright side, belying its build quality, our Logitech G335 review sample proved to be surprisingly comfortable to use and even after an extended Netflix binge spanning six hours or so, it remained exceptionally comfortable to wear without ear pressure, chafing or that characteristic feel of a vice clamping on your head.

There is a modest amount of passive noise insulation from the cushioned headphone cans but you’ll still be able to hear any loud ambient noise around you which makes it best used indoors or in quieter areas.

Is the Logitech G335 Good ?

If you are on a budget and prioritise comfort over other factors mixed in with a modicum of performance for voice comms and audio, the Logitech G335 wired gaming headset is a decent proposition.

A simple plug-and-play setup, a modest price tag and exceptional comfort make it worth a look for students, and those who may need to use a pair of cans for extended periods of time like work from home executives.

Logitech G335

A relatively affordable gaming headset that prioritises aesthetics over performance though it is admittedly quite comfortable to use for extended periods of time. It’s a decent starter set for those on a budget and something to handle basic voice comms and listening to content in one comfortable package.

Attractively coloured design

Cons
