We’ve seen plenty of novelties when it comes to tech but the new LG Tone Free wireless earbuds that have just arrived in Malaysia is certainly an apt offering for the times we live in as the charging case is able to sterilise your earbuds.
The LG Tone Free wireless earbuds notably feature what LG calls an UVnano charging case that is claimed to kill 99.9% of bacteria on the speaker mesh, which is where you typically make contact with the earbuds when in use. To save on juice, this UNnano cleaning mode is only available if you connect the charging case to the mains.
In terms of hardware, you’re looking at a pair of dual drivers by Meridian that have dual mics for active noise cancellation, an ambient sound mode and an IPX4 rated build that allows the earbuds to be splash resistant; the case isn’t so don’t go prancing about in the rain but it’ll work just fine for workouts.
Battery life for the LG Tone Free is rated at 6 hours of juice on a single charge for the earbuds and an extra 12 in the case with 5 minutes of charging giving you an hour of playtime. The LG Tone Free is available in either black or white for RM799 nationwide in Malaysia. You can check them out at https://www.lg.com/my/wireless-earbuds
