LG launches massive 600L Side-by-Side fridge and svelte B6 OLED TV

If you like your refrigerators massive and your tellies as svelte as possible, you’re in luck as LG has launched their mammoth 600 litre Mega Capacity Side-by-Side Refrigerators and the incredibly slim 55-inch B6 OLED TV.

On top of the rather obvious benefit of being able to store everything short of a pygmy pachyderm with a 600-litre storage capacity, the new trio of refrigerators from LG also has an array of energy saving tech to cut down your ‘leccy bills. Of note is a nifty door-in-door feature on the flagship model that splits the primary compartment into two with a see-through mini compartment so you needn’t have to open the main fridge door and lose valuable cold air while still having access to whatever you stored there – snacks, beer, you name it. According to their boffins, this Door-in-Door feature helps to save 41% cold air loss. Cool. Literally speaking.

The fridges also have a Moist Balance Crisper: essentially tech that keeps your food fresher longer in every compartment. To save even more on electricity, the fridges also sport LG’s Inverter Linear Compressor Technology that is 32% more energy efficient and 25% quieter than conventional compressors. All this stacks up to cheaper ownership in the long term. The new LG Door-in-Door fridges come in three different models: the GC-M247SLUV, the GC-B247SLUV and the GC-C247UGUB.

All have similar aesthetics and similar dimensions with a gross 687l capacity but what makes the M247 the coolest of the bunch and the forerunner of the range is that it’s the only fridge out of the lot with the aforementioned Door-in-Door feature. For that privilege, you’ll be paying RM5,999. For a limited time only, it will come at a promotional price of RM4,499 at all good stockists nationwide. The other two models lack a Door-in-Door feature and have a few other differentiating features with the GC-C247UGUV costing RM6,999 but is currently retailing at a discounted price of RM4,999 while the GC-B247SLUV retails for RM4,999 though it comes with a promotional price of RM3,999.

Fly Like an LG B6 OLED TV
The elusive quest for sharper, crisper images and deeper, more intense blacks and brilliant whites may have found its match with LG’s 55-inch B6 OLED TV. It’s breathtakingly slim when viewed from the sides and has absurdly slim bezels around the OLED HDR screen that comes with a host of LG-sourced tech to deliver some truly impressive colours and imagery onscreen.

20161216_105042On account of LG’s OLED tech that can individually brighten and dim each pixel onscreen, the B6 TV is able to achieve nigh perfect blacks while their integrated OLED HDR tech means it’s able to serve up brilliantly hued 4K video oncreen. On the audio front, the B6 comes with speakers tuned by harman kardon for some seriously beefy virtual surround sound.

It’s future proof too on account of HDR10 and Dolby vision format support so it won’t end up a white elephant a few years down the road.
