Huawei made USD13.32 billion in 2016 and not just on phones

Huawei is best known as the maker of the best-selling P9 and the newly launched P10 smartphone that made its debut at MWC 2017 and launched recently in Malaysia in the past few days . They do far more than make smartphones though as their Huawei Services division works on the back-end in terms of management and deployment of services and technologies for over 160 networks across the globe.

To date, Huawei Services has managed over 400 high-quality networks, set up over 40 service operations centers, established over 52,000 indoor hot spots solutions, rolled out over 470 IP networks and 1.15 million integrated wireless sites. Huawei Services doesn’t just handle the back-end nuts and bolts with networks, they also spearhead cloud transformation campaigns as well with network transformation projects for over 10 leading carriers, the integration of over 420 cloud data centers across the globe and more. “Huawei Services is focused on helping customers address these issues through continuous investment in our Services organization and talent, platform, and ecosystem to drive experience-based network deployment, operation for excellence, and digital transformation. With these efforts, we aim to address carriers’ most pressing challenges and eventually help them move their business to the cloud” said Mr. Sheng Kai, President of Huawei Service Marketing and Solution Sales.

All these services are things that we don’t often see on the front end but which are necessary things that keep the gears and wheels humming on the back-end so that calls get through, you can still watch YouTube videos in a mall despite being under multi-meter thick slabs of concrete and flooring and able to continue making calls while in moving a car downtown. All this has netted Huawei Services a cool USD13.32 billion in 2016. That, folks, is a lot of dough.  For more details check out www.huawei.com.
