Google debuts Daydream View VR headset, looks like a (comfy) dream

Announced at the same time as the Pixel, the Daydream View is akin to the Samsung Gear VR in that it needs a smartphone to act as the display itself though the first phone slated to be compatible with it is, naturally, the Google Pixel.

While the idea behind its inception isn’t new, the Daydream View looks unlike any other headset in the market. Rather than a smooth, shiny conglomeration of plastic and metal that you don on your bonce like some elaborate headdress, the Daydream is swathed in fabric for comfort when used for long durations. To interact with content, it comes with a wireless control. The Daydream VR will retail for US$79 and will be available in November.
