Galaxy Watch Active 2 now in Malaysia priced from RM1,099
Smart wearables are all the rage these days with new models arriving in Malaysia in a veritable deluge over the last few weeks. Samsung certainly isn’t one to be left out of the party and they’ve deployed their new Galaxy Watch Active 2 fitness tracking smartwatches in Malaysia in your choice of 40mm and 44mm sizes with prices starting from RM1,099.
Released several months after the Galaxy Watch Active which debuted in the earlier half of this year, the Galaxy Watch Active 2 has a number of modest upgrades while retaining the time fitness tracking capabilities and good looks of its predecessor.

What’s new with the Galaxy Watch Active 2
Like its predecessor, the Galaxy Watch 2 also runs Tizen OS and lets you swap watch faces and download apps specific to the smartwatch including a smattering of games and, of course, Spotify for a spot of music listening on the go.
On top of the obligatory heart-rate tracking, sleep monitoring, managing your stress with breathing exercises and the ability to monitor 39 workouts of which 7 are automatically activated the moment you perform them, the Galaxy Watch Active 2 also has several unique upgrades over the original Galaxy Watch Active.
The biggest difference is that the new watch has the most desirable feature from their older Gear S3 series watches – a rotating bezel – though this time around it’s completely digital. There’s no physical mechanism involved and you simply touch the rim of the display to navigate the menus which helps to maximise the screen real estate while offering a slick way to get about the menus. While LTE versions do exist, the ones coming to Malaysia will be come with WiFi and Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity. Battery life is rated to about a day plus of normal use before needing a charge. The new Galaxy Watch Active 2 is also rated IP68 for water resistance so it can survive a brief sousing or two in water.

In Malaysia, the Galaxy Watch Active 2 is now available nationwide in Malaysia in two sizes 44mm and 40mm and a combination of different cases and straps with commensurately different prices ranging from RM1,099 to RM1,399.
The Galaxy Watch Active 2 with a 44mm case in either Aqua Black or Pink Gold with a matching fluoroelastomer strap retails for RM1,099. There’s also an Under Armour variant in 44mm for RM1,199 and a 40mm variant for RM1,099 with both sporting an Aluminum Black finish and a matching fluoroelastomer strap.
