The Galaxy S9 and S9+ now come in an exquisite Sunrise Gold and Burgundy Red

The Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ are to date one of the best phones to emerge from their foundries though colour options globally were limited to Coral Blue, Midnight Black and Lilac Purple and a shade of silver titanium. Now, they’ve added two posh looking colours paired with new finishes to the line-up dubbed Sunrise Gold and Burgundy Red.

The Sunrise Gold edition has a satin gloss finish overlaying the deep gold undercoat that, according to Samsung, ‘creates a feeling of both vibrancy and calm’. The Burgundy Red finish is of particular interest as it’s one of the deepest shades of red possible on the colour wheel without delving into other shades. This os overlaid by a subtle gloss finish that makes it look classy indeed.

Bar the unique finish and new paint jobs, both the Sunrise Gold and Burgundy Red edition are functionally identical to the current Galaxy S9 and S9+ phones available in the market. In terms of launch availability, both finishes will be available for the Galaxy S9 and S9+ though at different times in different markets.

To recap, the Galaxy S9 is one of their most powerful phones ever made with a 5.8-inch Super AMOLED, 1,440 x 2,960 pixel touchscreen, an Exynos 9810 octacore processor and the notable addition of a rear dual aperture camera that can swap between f/15 to f/2.4 on demand depending on shooting conditions. The larger Galaxy S9+ comes with 6.2-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen with a similarly crisp resolution, a similar processor, more RAM and an upgraded dual rear camera array with the secondary one offering 2x optical zoom.

As of now, the Burgundy Red edition phones will be available in Korea and China starting in May onwards. Sunrise Gold will be available starting in June in Australia, Chile, Germany, Hong Kong, Korea, Mexico, Russia, Spain, Taiwan, United Arab Emirates and Vietnam. Malaysia so far isn’t on the list yet but we’ll keep you posted.
