Samsung Galaxy A51 review

Samsung Galaxy A51 256GB workhorse phone now available for same RM1,399

Samsung is issuing a revamped version of the Samsung Galaxy A51 for Malaysia that doubles the storage from 128GB to 256GB at the same original price of RM1,399 which represents significant bang for the buck.

For RM1,399, the Samsung Galaxy A51 256GB is a solid workhorse that can most tackle day to day tasks. You get a 6.5-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED display with a tiny punch hole up top for a 32MP selfie camera. The rest of the hardware consists of an Exynos 9611 processor, 8GB RAM as well as the aforementioned 256GB of expandable storage.

The rear camera consists of a primary 48MP camera, a 12MP ultra wide angle camera, a 5MP macro camera and a 5MP depth sensor. There’s no OIS but you’re able to capture 4K@30fps video and up to 48MP stills in a 4:3 aspect ratio. The camera has also enjoyed several firmware upgrades too that cull features from the Galaxy S20 series. Keeping it powered is a 4,000mAh battery with 15W fast charging.

We reviewed the earlier version of the Galaxy A51 with 6GB RAM and 128GB of storage so this upgunned version with 8GB RAM and 256GB of storage should have slightly nippier performance on account of the additional RAM from our original review. The revamped Galaxy A51 256GB is available in Prism Crush Black, Prism Crush Blue and Haze Crush Silver.
