Gaining Altitude – A first look at Yes 4G’s uber cheap RM399 VoLTE phone

Good things don’t usually come cheap but in the case of the newly launched Yes 4G’s bundled Android phone dubbed the Altitude , it’s not only cheap but surprisingly decent too with a feature set and price point that makes it truly accessible for the masses that are looking to tap into Yes’s VoLTE network.

The Altitude phone comes with a 5.5-inch HD touchscreen, has Android 5.1 running on a 1Ghz 64-bit Snapdragon 400 processor, 1GB RAM, 8GB of expandable storage via a dedicated microSD card slot that supports up to 32GB cards. It also also sports dual SIM card slots, both of which naturally support Yes 4G’s blazing fast network. The rear has an 8-MP camera with an F/2.0 aperture while the front has a 2-MP camera. The phone packs a large 2300mAh battery to keep things running.

The casing is understandably made of polycarbonate to keep costs down with the Yes logo on the back of the removable backplate. The sides sport silver finished trim on the sides with faux  metal power buttons and a volume rocker on the side on the right side of the device. The microUSB port and audio jack are on the top of the Altitude. It’s sized well for one-handed use and all things considered, it’s one of the cheapest VoLTe dual-SIM phones you can get on the market, making it a worthy of consideration as a back-up phone cum hotspot or as a phone for those on a tight budget.
