Dyson Micro price revealed; their cheapest and lightest vacuum ever at RM1,999 and 1.5kg
While all eyes are on the newly released Dyson Omni-glide, the brand has pulled an end-run and released their cheapest and lightest vacuum ever in Malaysia – the Dyson Micro 1.5kg. How much, you say? Well, the Dyson Micro price at launch was listed at RM1,999 on their official site which makes it RM300 cheaper than the new Omni-glide. But what is it really?
What is the Dyson Micro 1.5kg cordless vacuum
Intended as the lightest and most affordable Dyson cordless vacuum in their Malaysia line-up, the Dyson Micro 1.5kg represents a hybrid design that combines elements of the robust Dyson V11’s form factor with the portability, Hyperdymium engine and lightness of the Dyson Omni-glide.
In essence, the Dyson Micro 1.5kg has a trigger assembly akin to the Dyson V11 though instead of holding down on the trigger, it uses the same two-button on/off and high power setup as the Omni-glide.
Unlike the cornucopia of attachments that are usually issued with every Dyson vacuum, this particular version only has three.
Most of the grunt work is done by a compact soft roller motorised cleaner head optimised for hard floors along with an unpowered combi-crevice tool for narrow corners and tight spaces. Last but not least, it has a mini motorised tool for dealing with furnishings like cushions, sofas and the like
One thing to note though is that the soft roller cleaner head is not as manoeuvrable as the Omni-glide’s 360-degree omnidirectional cleaner head as the aforementioned trigger assembly means that you can’t lay and use it fully flat down on the floor.
Attachment assortment aside, the Dyson Micro 1.5kg is every bit a Dyson vacuum as it features the same high-powered Hyperdymium digital motor as the Omni-glide with 8 cyclones and which offers 20 minutes of usage before needing a recharge.
Dust and crud are sucked up into a five-stage HEPA filter capable of filtering out 99.99% of particles as small as 0.3 microns and onwards into a compact dust bin that can be easily emptied out without ever having to touch said crud in any way.
At 1.5kg, this means you can hold it one-handed and assuming you’re well heeled enough, dual wield this baby with one in each hand like a dust busting harbinger of the dustpocalypse.
