Dyson Lightcycle Morph ‘work from home’ light to brighten up Malaysia homes from RM2,499

The Dyson Lightcycle Morph task light is now available in Malaysia and is aimed as an advanced work from home light that can enhance productivity and offer optimised lighting for users.

We often can’t control the circumstances that are currently forcing us to work and study from home, but we can improve the environment that we’re working in. The most immediate, biggest improvement possible is getting a good work from home light.

While most work from home desk jockeys will likely be familiar with all the more important criteria like a good chair and desk as well as a decent laptop or PC, many often skimp or neglect arguably the most important thing – the lighting.

Folklore often points to reading and working in dim light as inducing eyestrain; the fact remains that there’s an element of truth to this and working in dim or inappropriate lighting can indeed tire the eyes in a swifter fashion as they have to concentrate harder.

As ideal it may sound to work in daylight or next to a window, we all may not necessarily have access to natural daylight where we choose to work in the house whether it’s on account of location or our working hours. Fortunately, Dyson has resolved these challenges in a surprisingly decisive fashion. Enter the Lightcycle Morph work from home task light.

The Dyson Lightcycle Morph is built to last a lifetime with LEDs that are able to last for decades of use thanks to a sophisticated cooling system

What is the Dyson Lightcycle Morph  task light?

The successor to the earlier Lightcycle, the new Lightcycle Morph task light has a number of improvements, not least being that it has a vertical stand that is capable of emitting a warm glow that does not affect your night vision while exuding a warm, relaxing ambiance with blue light filtered out to ensure a restful sleep.

With the Dyson Lightcycle Morph, our aim was to challenge the fundamental conventions of contemporary artificial lighting and find a solution. So we developed a light that tracks natural day light and intelligently transforms for different uses – providing the right light, at the right time, precisely where it’s needed,” said Jake Dyson, Chief Engineer.

Another improvement with the Lightcycle Morph is that it’s far more flexible than its predecessor with a triple-angled armature that lets you rotate the light fixture around, up and down and around so you can use it to bounce light off a wall, on the ceiling or anywhere you desire.

What really knocks things out of the ballpark is that the light emitted by the Lightcycle Morph is bespoke, tailored to a user’s age via the use of a paired Dyson Link app as older users need more light versus younger ones.

The Lightcycle Morph is able to tweak the intensity to match while also being able to track ambient lighting conditions such as a passing cloud overhead or a dim room to adjust the lighting so that you get the appropriate illumination while also ensuring the right colour temperature and brightness based on your geographic location and time of day. That’s something that other lights in the market simply can’t do.

The Lightcycle Morph is also designed to last a lifetime as it has a series of heat pipes that shunt heat away from the LED array, ensuring they can last for up to 60 years.
