Doogee’s Y300 sub-RM600 Android phone aims to offer serious bang for the buck

If you’re thinking of getting a phone on a budget that’s not made by all the usual players in the game, you might want to give Doogee’s new Y300 phone a look.

Interesting appellation aside, the phone runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow and comes with a 5-inch HD display sheathed in 2.5D Corning Gorilla glass, sports a 64-bit Mediatek MT6735 1.3GHz quad core processor, 2GB RAM, 32GB of expandable memory, a Mali T720 GPU and has a rear Sony-sourced 13-MP camera and a front-facing 5-MP selfie camera. The whole shebang is powered by a 2,200mAh battery and weighs in at 145g with an aluminium hewn casing that’s 6.7mm thin.

The external casing  eschews the rounded edges so beloved of current-gen phones, instead opting for sharper looking, both literally and figuratively, edges on the corners and trim of the phone. The phone ships in black, white and gold for RM599. For more details on how to snag one swing by Doogee’s Facebook page here.
