DALI unveils Callisto wireless speaker system at KLIAVS 2018
When it comes to audio speakers, DALI, which is an acronym for Danish Audiophile Loudspeaker Industries, knows what its talking about as they’ve been making some of the best audio kit in the industry since 1983. This time around, they’ve gone wireless and introduced their new Callisto Wireless speaker systems at the Kuala Lumpur International AV Show 2018 at Sunway Putra hotel.

Rather than a single speaker, the Callisto Wireless series of speakers are more of a system of sorts which consists of the Callisto 2C tower speakers and shorter Callisto 6C speakers, all of which are wireless and which work in tandem together with the Dali Sound Hub to pipe music wirelessly via your phone using the provided app or through other streaming sources like Spotify and the like.
The larger and taller Callisto 6C is speaker that sports dual woofers, a 250W Class-D amplifier and a hybrid tweeter, a synthetic wood finish and has a frequency range of 37 – 30,000Hz (-3dB) and a sensitivity of 110dB. Of note is that the top part is touch sensitive, allowing you to slide your finger along it as a volume controller.
The shorter, stouter Callisto 2C has much of the same hardware including a similar hybrid tweeter as the large 6C in a smaller form factor along with a similar touch sensitive panel on the top to deliver a frequency range of 47-30,000 Hz (-3dB) and an amplifier power around 40-200W.
The Dali Sound Hub is where the magic is at as it acts as the wireless nexus from which all that aural goodness streams out to the separate Dali speakers in your home setup. The Sound Hub streams tunes via a low-latency, 30-bit protocol to miminise drop-outs, effectively allowing a 24-bit/96kHz music file to stream to each speaker in a smooth fashion. The Sound Hub naturally supports all the usuals including Apt-X HD format and Apple’s AAC format.
The entire Dali Callisto system is making its official debut at KLIAVS 2018 with the Callisto 6C priced at RM8,700 per speaker, the smaller Callisto 2C speakers at RM6,800 per speaker and the SoundHub for RM3,160.
