Enhanced Cisco Webex Suite to enhance virtual collaboration

Cisco has taken the wraps off a revamped version of their popular Webex Suite that add a slew of tools and features to offer enhanced collaborative experiences for users not just in companies but in education and other social experiences too.

With the world now transitioning to a hybrid work environment where participants in a meeting may often be offsite and tuning in via a video call, it behooves organisations to figure out how to make working in the ‘new normal’, well, work in an effective fashion.

According to Cisco, the new Webex Suite adds over 800 new features across the board on top of a spruced up identity and logo that was revealed last month.

Cisco’s collaboration business is incredibly essential to our customers,” said Albert Chai, Managing Director of Cisco Malaysia. “The latest advancements we are bringing to Webex present an opportunity not only for our customers to enhance their current hybrid work arrangement and experience, but also enabling organizations in Malaysia to rethink their approach to a workplace strategy that is driven by culture, connections and innovations.

Webex Suite New Features

The core of Webex Suite has all the basics of hosting virtual meetings for participants but ramps things up a bit more with the addition of the ability to manage an end-to-end event experience at scale while acting as a single platform for holding meetings, calling, messaging and polling. Another feature of Webex Suite that will likely see a lot of use would be Slido which lets groups answer quizzes and polls.

Cisco is also adding additional features to Webex Suite that include People Focus which helps to reframe meeting participants via their webcams using machine learning and AI for a better sense of being connected with a slated arrival date sometime this year.

The other core features of corporate communications platforms like end-to-end encryption are all fully implemented in Webex Suite while retaining ease of use and functionality too.

With all the integrations the team has added – 800 new features and devices since September – we truly have the most comprehensive meetings, calling, messaging, and event management solution on the market powering the future of hybrid work,” said Hariharan S., Managing Director of Collaboration for Asia Pacific Japan & China at Cisco. “To be successful in the era of hybrid work, organizations need to make sure their solutions are flexible, inclusive, supportive, secure, and easily managed on the backend by IT. The all-new Webex Suite ensures everyone in a hybrid workforce has equal opportunity and voice.”
