Malaysian telco Digi has teamed up with insurance provider AXA Affin Life Insurance to offer a prepaid plan that bundles life insurance and data in one compact plan that they’ve dubbed as the Digi Abadi plan.
The Digi Abadi plan is a limited edition prepaid bundle that’s available for Malaysians between 30 – 55 years of age that can be subscribed via the Digi Online store for the first 100,000 customers.
To sign up for the plan, customers need to buy the RM28 starter kit which has RM40,000 in protection in case you buy the farm at no additional cost. The plan also throws in 3GB of data at 30 days validity, SMS and calls at 10/sen a minute to all networks and a full-year of validity on purchase. To enjoy the insurance cover and top up their internet usage, customers simply need to renew a monthly RM20 fee.
Existing Digi customers need to sign up for a new line and you’re only able to sign up for one line and one policy per customer. The Alienware brand of gaming notebooks by Dell has gotten a significant addition to their line-up as they’ve announced that the Alienware m15 R3 and the Alienware m17 R3 gaming notebooks and the Alienware Aurora R11 gaming desktop are all coming to Malaysia in the coming weeks. According to Dell Malaysia’s latest update, the Alienware m15 and m17 gaming notebooks will be available from 22nd May 2020 while the Aurora R11 will be available from 30th June 2020 onwards.
The Alienware m15 R3 and m17 R3 offer a significant variety of configurations for various markets. On paper the Alienware m15 R3 comes with 15.6-inch Full HD 144Hz 7ms 300-nit displays as standard which can be upgraded all the way to a 15.6-inch OLED UHD 60Hz 1ms 400-nits model with Tobii Eyetracking tech for selected games. In terms of processor options the Alienware m15 R3 variants all come with the latest 10th Gen Intel Core processors with the stock configuration packing an Intel Core i5-10300H CPU and the highest possible variant being a 19-10980HK CPU while the GPU can be maxed out to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 with 8GB GDDR6 VRAM with Max-Q. Storage options max out at 32GB RAM and up to a pair of 2TB SSDs in RAID 0 configuration with a 512GB SSD for storage. We don’t have the full specifications yet but the Alienware m15 R3 with an i7-10750H CPU and an NVIDIA GeForce 1660Ti graphics card will be priced at RM9,899.
The Alienware m17 R3 is a larger sized variant of the m15 R3 with much of the same design aesthetics with a larger display and most of the same kit under the hood. DIsplay options start out at a 17.3-inch 144Hz Full HD display and max out at a 17.3-inch 25ms 100% RGB colour gamut compliant UHD display with Tobii Eyetracking. Processor options are all 10th Gen Intel processors with the ground floor variant being an i5-10300H, the midrange being an i7-10750H and the highest end being an i9-10980HK. In terms of GPU, the notebook maxes out at a beefy Geforce RTX 2080 SUPER with 8GB GDDR6 VRAM. In Malaysia, the confirmed variant will be one packing an i7-10750H processor with an NIDIA GeForce RTX2070 with 8GB GDDR6 VRAM for RM12,199. More detailed configuration specifications and variants will be revealed on the launch date itself on the official Dell website.
Alienware Aurora R11 Price & Specifications
The Aurora R11 gaming desktop retains the same striking aesthetics with a unique looking chassis silhouette and a variety of configurations that max out at a 10th gen Intel COre i9 10900KF decacore processor, up to 64GB 3,200MHz DDR4 RAM, up to a 2TB NVME M.2 PCie SSD with options for Intel Optane and up to a dual NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti with 8GB GDDR6 VRAM with NVLink SLI enabled cards.
For Malaysia, the confirmed option, excluding possible variants later on is one with a 10th Gen Intel Core i6 processor – either 10400F or 10600KF and an NVIDIA GeForce 1660 Ti with 6GB GDDR6 VRAM for a princely RM9,899. Hinted at in an inadvertent leak of an image awhile back, the Dell XPS 15 is slated for arrival in Malaysia on 15 May with prices starting from RM7,999. By and large the smallest 15.6-inch performance laptop on the planet according to Dell, the XPS 15 shares the design lineage of the refreshed XPS 13 9300 that we saw back at CES 2020 in Vegas albeit with some minor refinements to accommodate its larger size including its expansive 4-sided Infinity display.
Like the new XPS 13, the refreshed XPS 15 comes in a variety of configurations. The display starts out as a 15.6-inch FHD+ with 100% sRGB but can go all the way up to a 15.6-inch 4K UHD touch display depending on how deep your pockets go. The hardware itself are all 10th Gen Intel Core processors starting out with an Intel Core i5-10300H all the way up to an i9-10885H CPU, up to 64GB DDR4 RAM split across 3 SO-DIMM slots and up to a 2TB PCIe 3×4 SSD. The XPS 15 can also be kitted out with an NVIDIA GeFOrce GTX 1650 Ti with 4GB GDDR6 VRAM. Battery options vary between a 56WHr or an 86WHr. All this is crammed into a beautifully crafted aluminium chassis that is 18mm thin.
In Malaysia, prices for the new XPS 15 9500 for 2020 will start from RM7,999 and up with a 10th Gen Intel Core i5-10300H CPU and an NVIDIA GTX 1650 Ti GPU with 4GB GDDR6 VRAM. We haven’t been able to get the exact storage configuration just yet as it’s fresh off the press but we’ll keep you posted. The official listing for the new XPS 15 9500 isn’t live on Dell’s official website yet but stay tuned to www.dell.com.my as it is slated to arrive on 15 May 2020 with its full spec configuration for the Malaysia market.
Acer Malaysia has just launched their Acer Swift 3 ultraportable but rather than just the usual 10th Gen Intel Core processors, Acer has also deployed a variant with AMD Ryzen 4000 series CPUs which also have a substantially lower price tag.
In Malaysia, the Acer Swift 3 comes in three configured variants in terms of processor, RAM and graphics. Common across all variants is a 14-inch Full HD IPS TFT LCD with an 83.65% screen-to-body ratio and a 512GB SSD.
The highest end variant and the priciest has an Intel Core i7-1065G7 processor, 16GB DDR4 RAM and an NVIDIA GeForce MX250 GPU with 2GB GDDR5 VRAM for RM4,299.
Slightly lower down the totem pole is a variant with an Intel Core i6-1035G1 processor with Intel UHD graphics and 8GB GDDR4 RAM for RM3,099. The cheapest but by no means the least powerful variant, pound for pound, has an AMD Ryzen 5 4500U processor with AMD Radeon graphics and 8GB DDR4 RAM for just RM2,599.
