Biforst Logistics integrates Oracle Cloud Applications into business

If you’re well read with Norse mythology, you’ll likely be familiar with the Bifrost – a magical bridge hewn of rainbows that connects Asgard the realm of the gods with the world of man. As fictional medieval transport solutions go it was the epitome of efficiency seeing as it allowed all manner of deities, mortals and whatnot to cross entire worlds.

Logistics solutions provider Biforst Logistics draws its name from what the mythical bridge and is doing very much the same today by acting as one of the country’s leading supply chain providers to service all manner of clients in Food & Beverage, Pharmaceuticals, Commodities and Convenience Retail not just in Malaysia but in Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand and India too. To get goods and supplies from one location to another safe and sound, Biforst uses a massive fleet of 550 trucks, two million square feet of warehousing space and unique storage solutions that can accommodate fragile cargo  to get things done. Of course, having and managing all this hardware means things can get complicated which is what Oracle’s ERP Cloud aims to resolve.

Recently, Biforst Logistics took the next step in enhancing their logistics network by integrating the Oracle Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Cloud and the Oracle Supply Chaim Management (SCM) Cloud to manage their business. This allows them to efficiently scale and manage the increasing operational and IT maintenance costs from their older enterprise systems. Oracle’s ERP Cloud helps Biforst take the load off by crunching time-intensive tasks and reporting while the Oracle SCM Cloud helps to give a bird’s eye view of their overall transportation network so they can offer the best service with maximum flexibility.

“We received an exciting business opportunity this year to provide our services to one of Malaysia’s leading retailers in the convenience retail sector. This opportunity meant that we needed to quickly scale our internal and external operations, enhance the financial insight into our business, and digitally transform into a modern logistics company, said Karthegesan Bala, COO, Biforst Logistics. “With Oracle ERP Cloud and SCM Cloud solutions, we will lower our IT spend, redirect our resources to more strategic efforts, and streamline our logistics processes, so that we can procure, store, and distribute approximately 2,000 stock keeping units to all the outlets nationwide, and in a much shorter timeframe than before.” For more details on Oracle follow them on www.oracle.com.
