BenQ has built a solid reputation for making some of the best home theatre projectors in the business. This time around, they’re taking things up a notch as they’re featuring the world’s first 4K DLP home theater projectors in the form of the BenQ CinePrime W5700 and the BenQ CinePrime W2700 that have DCI-P3 colour compliance for exceptional colour accuracy so skin tones onscreen don’t look like they’re pasty looking zombies and other hues are true to life.
In terms of colour accuracy and specifications, the BenQ CinePrime W5700 edges out as it offers 4K footage with a full 100% DCI-P3 colour space and 100% Rec. 709 which means true to life colour reproduction along with support for HDR10 and HLG formats for content. The BenQ CinePrime W5700 also offers 1.6X zoom and 2D H/V lens shift for more deployment options in the average living room.
The BenQ CinePrime W2700 is able to cover 95% of the DCI-P3 colour gamut but matches the W5700 with a full 100% Rec. 709 colour space along with Delta E≤3 colour accuracy from the factory. The BenQ CinePrime W2700 also features a slightly more modest 1.3x zoom, vertical lens shift and CinemaMaster Audio+ 2 tuned integrated speakers for sound in lieu of a dedicated speaker.
