When the going gets tough for a mobile gamer, the tough get this massive vapor-chamber cooled, Snapdragon 855 Plus packing behemoth of a phone dubbed the Asus ROG Phone II.
The Asus ROG Phone II is built from the ground up to be a gaming phone in every way and aims to top its predecessor the ROG Phone that was launched last year in almost every single aspect. While the ROG Phone II has been launched earlier in China and India, that particular variant has slightly different specifications, in particular less storage space among other more salient features.
The versions for Malaysia max out the stats and come in two flavours, each of which varies in terms of available storage with the ROG Phone 2 Elite Edition coming with 512GB storage and the ROG Phone II Ultimate Edition coming with a massive 1 terabyte of onboard storage. That and the Elite Edition sports a mirrored black finish while the Ultimate Edition has a matte black finish.
That aside, the both local versions of the ROG Phone II have a 6.59-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a Qualcomm Snapdragon octacore processor paired with 12GB RAM and a dual rear camera array sporting a 48-MP + 13-MP wide angle lens camera combo with the front sporting a 24-MP selfie camera. Unique to the ROG Phone series is a secondary side mounted Type-C port, Ultrasonic Air Trigger shoulder buttons and a Performance mode that ramps up the power available for gaming. You can also purchase a series of accessories individually.
Powering the whole affair is a 6,000mAh battery with PD 3.0 30W fast charging. The ROG Phone II is now available nationwide in Malaysia at RM3,499 for the 512GB Elite edition and RM4,499 for the Ultimate edition. An exclusive edition only available on Lazada that packs every possible accessory with the phone retails for a whopping RM6,999.
