ASUS has beefed up their ExpertBook line of business laptops substantially with the release of their top of the line ExpertBook B9 B9400 along with the rather intriguing addition of the ExpertBook B5 Flip convertible, their first design in the range to do so on account of a 360-degree hinge and a 13.3-inch Full HD touchscreen to turn into a tablet or display at will.
All well and good but where the ExpertBook B5 Flip dominates the competition is that it’s also rated MIL-STD-810H for toughness and durability which means it can survive a modest drop without pranging into an art deco sculpture. It’s also able to shrug off a modest splash of water off the keyboard too.
That’s not all, it packs a TPM 2.0 chip and has a guaranteed upgrade path from its existing onboard Windows 10 Pro to the next logical version of Windows 11. The fact that it’s remarkably light too on account of liberal usage of tough yet ultralight magnesium lithium alloy in its construction – it’s just 1kg and just 16.9mm thin- makes it eminently desirable indeed.
The ExpertBook B5 Flip, also designed as model B5302F comes in two subvariants that are differentiated by what processor they pack. The top of the line version features a 13.3-inch Full HD touch display with a 60Hz refresh rate, an 11th Gen Intel Core i7-1165G7 2.8GHz processor paired with Iris Xe graphics as well as 8GB DDR4 3,200MHz RAM. Storage needs are sorted out by a substantial 512GB SSD and the laptop has a spare SSD bay in case you need to augment storage. In terms of battery life, the ExpertBook B5 Flip is rated for 14 hours on average on a single charge.
Combined, all these substantial features also confer the laptop Intel Evo certification which makes it ideal for road warriors and demanding power users. Another subtle benefit to the ExpertBook B5 Flip is that it has ASUS’s NumberPad 2.0, which enables the touchpad to double as a numeric keypad.
