Apple revamps 13-inch MacBook Pro with Magic Keyboard and prices starting from RM5,599
Apple hasn’t rested on their laurels and they’ve released a revamped incarnation of their 13-inch MacBook Pro after the release of their slick looking MacBook Air awhile back.
The refreshed 13-inch MacBook Pro comes in four configurations, all of which have their vaunted Retina displays with 500 nits brightness and 4 million pixels, notably sport their Magic Keyboard and pack the latest 10th generation Intel Core processors, double the storage and a host of other refinements too including a Touch Bar for shortcuts and a physical Esc key too.
For the uninitiated, the Magic Keyboard, which was first brought into service on their 16-inch MacBook Pro and eventually on their recent refresh of the MacBook Air makes for a far comfier typing experience over their prior butterfly keyboard mechanism as it uses a redesigned scissor mechanism with 1mm of key travel.
The new 13-inch MacBook Pro range all come with macOS Catalina and also feature their Sidecar feature, allowing users to extend their available screen real estate via a paired iPad tablet.
Apple 13-inch MacBook Pro price and specification
In terms of hardware, Apple’s new 13-inch MacBook Pro’s come in 4 possible configurations.depending on price with the entry level units coming with 8th generation Intel Core processors and the highest end ones with the 10th gen Intel Core processors with increasingly higher prices on account on higher storage and more RAM while retaining the same Retina displays and Magic Keyboard.
Starting on the ground floor, the cheapest model retails at RM5,599 and has an 8th Gen Intel Core i5 1.4GHz quad-core processor, 8GB 2,166MHz DDR3 RAM, a 256GB SSD and Intel Iris Plus 645 graphics. The next step up has similar specifications but doubles the storage to 512GB for RM6,399.
The highest end variant retails for RM8,7999 and comes with the latest 10th Gen Intel i5 quad-core 2.0GHz processor, 16GB 3,733MHz DDR4 RAM, a 1TB SSD and Intel Iris graphics. You can also save a bit and get the same exact specifications save for a smaller 512GB SSD for RM7,999. All four of the new Apple 13-inch MacBook Pro variants are available on the Malaysian Apple online store with their specifications but with no release dates as yet.
