Acer Zero to Nitro campaign reveals new high powered Nitro 5 laptops for preorders and QG241YP monitor for Malaysia

Gamers looking for a bargain will likely appreciate the charms that the Acer Nitro 5 series of gaming laptops offer but the 2021 refresh of these workhorse gaming laptops as part of the new Acer Zero to Nitro campaign aims to take things to new heights with not one but six possible Nitro 5 variants with increasing levels of performance and wallet-burning potential.

Acer Nitro 5 series specifications

All six of the new Razer Nitro 5 variants are built on the same core design but vary in terms of their displays, what AMD processor they use though they’re all collectively from the Ryzen 5000 series, RAM, graphics card and storage. 

The top of the line variant, designated as Nitro 5 AN515-45-R49W has an AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX octacore processor, 16GB DDR4 3,200MHz RAM, a GeForce RTX 3080 GPU with 8GB GDDR6 VRAM, a 1TB SSD and a 15.6-inch QHD 165Hz display with 2,560 x 1,440 pixels resolution for a princely RM8,999. 

On the other end of the scale is the entry level variant, designated as the Nitro 5 AN515-45-R9RJ  for RM3,699 that has an AMD Ryzen 5 5600H hexacore processor, 8GB DDR4 3,200Mhz RAM, an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 GPU with 4GB GDDR6 VRAM, a 512GB SSD and a 15.6-inch Full HD 144Hz display.

Acer Nitro QG241YP Gaming Monitor

The Acer Nitro QG241YP gaming monitor is their latest display for gamers with a 23.8-inch VA panel with Full HD resolution and support for a 165Hz native refresh rate with 1ms VRB response time. It also covers 72% of the NTSC colour space.

Other mod-cons include AMD FreeSync Premium for tear-free visuals as well as HDR10 compatibility for enjoying content onscreen. It also has a rear VESA mount in lieu of the traditional stand if you want to mount it on a wall. 

In terms of connectivity, the monitor packs a HDMI 2.0 port, a HDMI 1.4 port, a DisplayPort and Audio Out that covers the bases. The Acer Nitro QG241YP retails for RM749 but from today until 16th April 2021, you can purchase it for RM699 at the Acer official online store on Shopee and Lazada.
