Acer introduces new line-up of commercial TravelMate notebooks and Chromebooks

Acer Malaysia has rolled out a whole new line-up of notebooks in their commercial TravelMate line for  as well as a new Chromebook to cater to the education segment. Many of the new TravelMate notebooks and the Chromebook as well are robustly built with MIL-STD810G levels of durability which will endear them to the butter fingered. To wit, the rating means that they can survive up to 60kg of crush weight, survive a 122cm drop to the deck and have splash proof keyboards too.

Here’s the lowdown on Acer’s new TravelMate series and new Chromebooks.  They also unveiled a range of portable LED projectors dubbed the PD1320Wi and the PD1520i for concerns looking for wireless screen mirroring connectivity, efficient LED light sources that have a use-life of 30,000 hours and exceptional portability. Acer Chromebook 311

Intended for students, the Chromebook 311 is built like a tank with Mil-STD 810G levels of durability. Toughness aside, the Chromebook 311’s hardware consists of an 11.6-inch HD display, an Intel Celeron N4100 quadcore processor running Chrome OS with access to the Google Play Store, 4GB RAM and 32GB of expandable storage via a microSD card slot. Battery life is rated at about 12 hours and it will retail at RM1,299 with an availability date sometime in mid-May.

Acer TravelMate P214

The Acer TravelMate P214 productivity notebook is intended for corporate concerns and is 20mm thin while weighing 1.6kg which makes it portable indeed. It comes in four different sub-variants with prices starting from RM2,599 with all the TravelMate series notebooks sporting MIL-STD-810G levels of durability.

The hardware consists of a 14-inch HD display, an Intel Core i5-8250U 3.4GHz processor, Intel HD graphics, 4GB DDR4 RAM and a 256GB PCie SSD. It also comes with a notable rarity these days – a built-in DVD writer for RM2,999 though you can opt for a variant without the DVD writer for RM3,099. You can also opt for a variant that swaps out the SSD for a 1TB hard disk and no DVD writer for RM2,899. A cheaper variant with a 1TB hard disk and an Intel Core i3-8130U processor is also available with 4GB RAM and a 14-inch HD display for RM2,599. All TravelMate P214 variants are now immediately available nationwide.

TravelMate X314

Intended for small to medium outfits who prize security and portability, the Acer TravelMate X314 notably has a power button cum fingerprint reader or facial recognition. Crammed into a 20mm thin casing that weighs 1.6kg is a 14-inch Full HD IPS display, an 8th generation Intel Core i5 processor, 8GB DDR4 RAM, up to a 256GB SSD,  and MIL-STD 810G grade toughness. Acer TravelMate P614

Fresh off its debut at the Acer Global Press Conference 2019 in the United States, the Acer TravelMate P614 is designed as a lightweight option for business travellers on the go needing a powerful yet light computing option, the Acer TravelMate P614 sports a 14-inch Full HD touchscreen,  an Intel Core i7-8565U processor, 8GB DDR4 RAM, Intel HD graphics and a 512GB M.2 PCie NVme SSD. All this is crammed into a chassis that is just 16.6mm thin that weighs just 1.1kg. The best part? They still manage to cram in a whopping 20 hours of rated battery life into the P614. All this clocks in at RM5,699 and it is slated for arrival in Q3 in Malaysia at Acer online stores and authorised dealers nationwide.
