What’s that? You want more Pokemon stuff? Here you go

Even as we speak hordes of people shamble around the streets of cities and suburbs, eyes staring vapidly into their smartphones even as they occasionally display beatific grinds and bizarre swiping motions with their hands. Young and old all are held in thrall by this terrifying new phenomenon. Welcome to the Pokemoncalypse caused by Niantic’s hit blockbuster game Pokemon Go that has radically changed human behaviour across entire continents as people attempt to capture Pokemon scattered about a real world map. We’ve had cases of muggings, people literally falling off bridges, ramming into objects and worse in their desperate pursuit of Pokemon. We can’t deny it – it’s taken our entire office by storm.

Alas, the game only works with active data and a working GPS signal on your phone. Unfortunately, having both your data and battery on drains juice faster than the sashimi platter at a buffet. So what’s a Pokemon fan to do in between hunting for the elusive little blighters when they don’t have data, a good GPS signal or even a phone? We’ve trawled through the depths of 11Street’s cavernous cornucopia of goodies and came out with a few gems.

You can get both the original game that inspired Pokemania for a hefty hint of nostalgia. For RM935 on 11Street, you can score yourself a mint in the box Nintendo 3DS console bundled with the 20th Anniversary Pokemon Blue and Pokemon Red version of the game along with a pair of matching cover plates with Blastoise and Charizard on them. The best part? You don’t need data, or a GPS signal to play this.

If you’re stuck somewhere where you can’t even have the luxury of using electronics, like say at an airport, you can opt for the Pokemon Clash collectible card game for RM189. For the price of entry, you get eight randomly assembled starter decks that you and likely four other mates can mix and match to create a reasonably engrossing experience to while away quite a few hours.

Need a gift for a Pokemon fan? This interesting little Poke Ball replica for RM272 has a miniature Pikachu figure and a similar design as the game’s signature balls used to capture Pokemon. Just don’t go throwing it at people or pets. It doesn’t end well. For other interesting Pokemon related stuff, you can saunter on by to 11Street at www.11street.my
