The announcement of Intel’s latest 8th generation Coffee Lake-H processors brought about a slew of releases of new offerings from all the major gaming notebook brands including MSI which announced a trio of notebooks sporting the new processors – the GE63 Raider RGB, the GT75 Titan and the titular poster boy of the new line: their exquisitely sleek GS65 Stealth Thin gaming notebook.

What immediately draws the casual observer in is the fact that the MSI GS65 Stealth Thin is one of the slimmest notebooks that MSI has ever made and is  17.7mm thin on the side with a 180-degree hinge that allows the display to lie completely flat if needed.

The notebook itself is done up in MSI’s usual matte black finish with their Dragon Army logo on the top but it swaps their usual luminescent red trim for a classier looking gold trim complemented by an RGB SteelSeries keyboard that allows for per-key illumination to the tune of over 16.7 million potential colours on demand.

The side vents and cooling ports on the MSI GS65 Stealth Thin also incorporate exquisite craftsmanship with geometric, machine-cut grilles finished in the same gold trim as the top lid. This is quite a far cry from the usual stolid looking grills festooning other gaming rigs and classes up the whole affair by several notches.

In terms of hardware, the GS65 Stealth Thin has the notable distinction of currently being the gaming laptop with the world’s thinnest bezels at 4.9mm thin. This allows it to carry a massive 15.6-inch display that is also is the world’s first 144Hz/7ms Full HD display in a form factor that’s approximately the size of your average 14-inch notebook. What makes it an exceptional feat of engineering on MSI’s part is that they have also managed to cram in an 82Whr battery that offers eight hours of gaming on a single charge; an impressive feat of engineering indeed.
