Sony gets in on the action like a BOSS with new FDR-X300R and HDR-AS300R action cams

Sony made a splash in the local market recently, literally so with the launch of the FDR-X3000R action camera that captures 4K video and the HDR-AS300R action camera that captures Full HD footage.

Both cameras also come with their Balanced Optical Steadyshot Image Stabilisation (BOSS), that ensures ultra smooth footage, which in the case of the FDR-X3000R is exceptional as its BOSS tech enables it to offer image stabilisation even when snagging 4K footage.

The Sony FDR-X3000R

That’s quite an impressive feat. The 4K-video capturing FDR-X3000R is also able to shoot ultra smooth slo-mo 120p video in 1080p while the HDR-AS300R can do so too though in HD. Both camera also sport 8.2-MP BSI Exmor R CMOS sensors and new Zeiss len designs.

Both cameras are waterproof up to 60 metres if you bung them in the provided underwater housing. Framing shots on both is via an optional RM-LVR3 live-view remote that can be wrist mounted like a watch or via the PlayMemories Mobile app. The FDR-X3000R retails for RM2,199 while the price for the HDR-AS300R has not been firmed up as yet.
