Samsung’s new ‘The Frame’ TV is literally an artistic masterpiece

Samsung’s new QLED TVs made their debut at CES and at SEA Forum 2017, wowing pundits with their ability to display breathtakingly vivid hues and pin-sharp imagery onscreen. The key behind the QLED TVs is their eponymous Quantum Dot Light Emitting Diode (QLED) tech that serves up deeper richer colours along with enhanced screen longevity too.

A scant 24 hours ago at the Louvre in Paris, Samsung showcased their not only their QLED TVs to Parisians and invited technorati but also their latest implementation of QLED TV tech, a panel enigmatically dubbed ‘The Frame’.  As you will likely surmise, The Frame is not only a QLED TV but it’s also able to double as a picture frame too, hanging on your wall as a transforming work of art.

Fire up The Frame’s unique Art Mode and it displays over a 100 pieces of art onscreen across a score of categories whenever you’re not using it to catch a show or game. To make it look more like a picture frame, you can opt to switch it with interchangeable bezels or an optional Studio Stand to really make it look like a picture.

The Frame has most of its ports located on a separate connector box hooked up only by a slim, almost invisible cable such that you’re able to hang it pretty much like a – you guessed it – picture frame in lieu of propping it up with the optional Studio Stand. There’s no price tag or hard specifications yet for The Frame but we’ll keep you in the know once we get any details. If you want to bone up on QLED tech, swing by our SEA Forum 2017 coverage here.
