Samsung SEAO Forum 2019 showcases their latest 8K QLED TVs and home technologies

Samsung is best known for their famous series of smartphones such as the recently launched Galaxy S10 series of phones though they are also powerhouses when it comes to televisions and white goods. Their latest Samsung Southeast Asia and Oceania Forum that was held in Singapore showcased the best the brand has to offer across their latest 2019 range of QLED TVs that will appear in over 60 markets across the region as well as home appliances such as their new refrigerators that include their Family Hub refrigerator, their enhanced QuickDrive washing machines, the revamped POWERStick Jet200 handheld vacuum cleaner and more with an emphasis on creating a more intelligent, stronger Internet of Things across their devices and beyond. The linchpin holding this new family of devices together is an enhanced version of their Bixby virtual assistant dubbed ‘New Bixby’ that promises more inter-connectivity and intuitive intelligence.

Samsung 8K QLED Smart TVs inbound

Among the line-up of 2019 QLED Smart TVs were their 8K Q900R that comes in 65-inch to 98-inch sizes and a slew of 4K resolution TVs in the form of the Q90R, Q80R, Q70R and Q60R that are available in sizes ranging from 43-inches all the way to a palatial 82-inches.

Common across their latest range of Smart TVs is support for Apple Airplay 2 and more importantly Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant support to turn the TV on and off or to manipulate volume with just your voice alone. Availability will of course vary by region. Also showcased was Samsung’s impressive and massive ‘The Frame’ and ‘The Wall’ displays that are not only massive but offer superb colour reproduction and sharpness to boot.

A Smarter New Bixby

Another particular item unique unto Samsung hardware that was on display was their revamped Bixby virtual assistant that is an ubiquitous feature on their high-end Galaxy Note and Galaxy S-series phones which allow for users to manipulate phone functions via voice controls.

At Samsung SEAO Forum 2019, the revamped ‘New Bixby’ beefs things up with enhanced connectivity to other devices including their range of QLED 8K TVs and an enhanced Family Hub 4.0 for more communication among family members. In effect, you can use Bixby to make queries such as the weather or each family member’s schedules and leave notes and art on the display integrated into the fridge door to make the fridge a social hub of sorts for the family unit.

Also making an appearance is the POWERstick Jet200 handheld vacuum cleaner that featurs enhanced performance over its predecessor and, of note a new spinning sweeper attachment that can effectively clean tile floors.
