Samsung Galaxy S7 saves Australian quartet in Melbourne seas

It has been said that bad news sell better than good news, which may possibly explain why there has been so much news on Samsung’s woes regarding their Galaxy Note 7 of late, though it seems that the tide has turned for them. Literally.

According to Australian tech site Ausdroid, Samsung’s Galaxy S7 phone managed to save four lads out on a fishing trip in Western Port Bay, Victoria. The weather turned foul, resulting in their boat going under though they managed to make a call to emergency services on account of  one of the four lads who owned a Galaxy S7. The water resistance of the phone managed to save their bacon and they were able to contact emergency services for a rescue. Unfortunately, the S7 wasn’t able to survive immersion in salt water though Samsung Australia did furnish them with a brand new replacement as the phone fortuitously was still under warranty.
