Samsung Galaxy M20 with massive 5,000mAh battery launched exclusively on Shopee

Fresh off launching the Galaxy A series smartphones a mere few hours ago, Samsung Malaysia is officially launching another affordable workhorse phone with a massive battery dubbed the Galaxy M20 as an online-only exclusive on Shopee in conjunction with Samsung’s Super Brand Day event which offers exciting bargains at their online store at the Shopee e-tailer site.

The Galaxy M20 which was teased a few days ago is an interesting offering from Samsung as it is not only affordable but has endurance that matches and even exceeds the battery capacity of some of its flagship phones. In terms of hardware, the Galaxy M20 is the first phone of its kind to have a 5,000mAh battery to be priced for under RM1,000.

It’s not all just brute force though, the Galaxy M20 has a series of optimisations to ensure more efficient power consumption and it ships with a 15W fast charger that has, on paper, triple the charging speed.

This massive endurance is paired with an Exynos 7904 octacore built on a 14nm process, 4GB RAM and 64GB of expandable storage via a dedicated SIM card slot. Up front, it has a massive Infinity-V notched TFT display that measures in at 6.3-inches with FHD+ resolution.

The rear camera setup consists of a vertically aligned dual camera array that features a parimary 13-MP F/1.9 snapper with phase detection autofocus and a secondary 5-MP camera with an ultrawide angle lens. The front sports a single 8-MP f/2.0 camera for selfies with both front and rear cameras capable of 1080P video capture. Of note is that the phone retains a 3.5mm audio jack and has a more conventional but still very reliable fingerprint reader mounted on the rear.
