Samsung announces out of this world Space Monitor, CRG9 gaming monitor and UR59C curved UHD monitor

You would hardly reckon the humble monitor that sits perched on your desktop as something exciting but Samsung has managed to glam up ye olde office essential with not one but three new, powerful and surprisingly sexy looking displays for both work and play at the ongoing Consumer Electronics Show 2019 that’s happening in the ‘States right now. On show, at their CES 2019 booth is the appropriately named Space Monitor, the CRG9 gaming monitor and the huge, curved UR59C 4K UHD gaming monitor.

Samsung Space Monitor

The Space Monitor is a minimalist affair that an articulated arm that clamps to your desk to allow for more space and comes in a 27-inch model with QHD resolution and a 32-inch with 4K resolution. The arm is sufficiently flexible and compact that it can let you fold it flat back against a wall or tilted out to adjust even the most unorthodox viewing angle. To complete the minimalist look, the monitor has its power and HDMI cables routed through it to give it a really clean look.


Samsung CRG9

The 49-inch CRG9 has a crisp dual QHD resolution at 5,120 x 1,440 pixels, possesses a 32:9 aspect ratio with a 120Hz refresh rate, a 4ms response time and has AMD Radeon FreeSync 2 HDR support to minimise screen tearing, making it ideal for fast-paced games. The panel also has HDR10 support with a peak brightness of 1,000 nits. The CRG9 also has the enviable able, on account of its width, to allow you to show two video sources on the same screen which makes it ideal for multitasking.

Samsung UR59C

The 32-inch UR59C is a curved UHD resolution display with a 1500R curvature and 3,840 x 2,160 pixel resolution designed for content creators. It’s only 6.7mm slim, which should endear it to aesthetes looking for slim panels and has a stylish looking V-slim metal stand that ensures it retains a slim footprint on your table.

There’s no word on pricing or if all three displays will make it to Malaysia but one can hope. In the meantime, swing by Samsung’s CES booth #15006 at the Las Vegas Convention Centre if you’re in the neighbourhood from January 8 to 11 2019.
