The ROG GL504 SCAR II and HERO II gaming rigs are coming to Malaysia

Gaming is a serious business and judging from the scads of money that professional esports gamers make plying their trade, it’s a profitable one indeed which is what Asus’ ROG Malaysia’s latest gaming ROG GL504 series rigs are all about as they are rolling out two unique series variants, each with modifications to their designintended to cater to specific game genres dubbed the HERO II and SCAR II.

Essentially, the ROG GL504 gaming notebooks come in two flavours – the Scar II variants are made for serious first person shooters while the Hero II series variants are optimised for MOBAs. Both GL504 series variants are built on a similar core set of specifications and differ primarily in terms of aesthetics and keyboard design.

The cornerstone of the HERO II and SCAR II rigs are built around a crisp 15.3-inch Full HD display with a 144Hz refresh rate and 3ms response time, eighth generation Intel Coffee Lake processors, a HyperCool Pro fan cooling system with an anti dust system to ensure gunk doesn’t get stuck in your rig, RangaBoost WiFi tech for better connectivity as well as a backlit full-sized keyboard.

In terms of differences, the ROG Strix GL504 Scar II series gaming rigs have been specifically optimised for the aforementioned FPS games and have a highlighted WASD key that is brighter than normal alongside the rest of the backlit keyboard to make it easier to find along with palm rests that have a kevlar-like finish.

Externally, the Scar II series is identifiable on account of an anodised gunmetal gray finish with heatsinks finished in a deep black to evoke the aesthetics of an assault rifle. For MOBA games, the ROG Strix GL504 Hero II series has a highlighted QWER key group while the external finish comes with a contrasting metallic black with flame red rear vents.
