Olá! The upcoming Mcdonald’s Rio Burger aims to offer your tastebuds a carnival of flavour

As much an institution as it is comfort food and a comparative easure of purchasing power parity, Mcdonald’s has saved our bacon quite a few times when bereft of familiar food in a faraway land. It’s a known quantity and when you’re staring down something you can’t even pronounce much less attempt to order, a Filet ‘o Fish or a Big Mac sound like a darned good option in comparison. Unadventurous? Sure. But hey, if it works… Now though, Mcdonald’s aims to bring an interesting dose of adventure in a culinary fashion to locals as they’re launching the first of three country-themed burgers in Malaysia in light of the 2016 Rio Olympics where they are the official restaurant.

The first burger in the line-up, dubbed the Rio Burger is, as they quote, a ‘carnival’ of lavour. It’s a black and white fluffy sesame seed bun that sandwiches a kaleidoscopic array of mixed vegetables, a slice of cheese, a thick chunk of beef and their special mouth-watering Rio sauce. The burger hits all Mcdonald’s restaurants nationwide from 25 July onwards and will be available until 24 August for RM12.50 on its own or RM15.99 when you get it as a regular set with a frozen Fanta soda and fries. As it’s only around for a limited time, you’ll have to hustle to get a bite. For more details swing by Mcdonald’s official Malaysia site here.
