Nokia is back in Malaysia with four new phones including the classic 3310 starting from RM239!

Mention Nokia back in the 90’s and the Finnish marque would gain instant recognition regardless of whichever part of the globe you were on. While it has.been nascent from some time, they’re now back with a vengeance with a strong showing at this year’s Mobile World Congress 2017 with the launch of their Nokia 3, 5 and 6 phones running Android along with a new incarnation of their classic 3310 feature phone.

The entry level Nokia 3 comes with a 5-inch HD LCD display sheathed in 2.5D Corning Gorilla glass, runs Android 7.0 Nougat on a MediaTek MTK6737 1.3Ghz quadcore processor, 2GB RAM and 16GB of expandable storage, a rear and front camera with both packing an 8-MP sensor with an F/2.0 lens and a 2,630mAh battery. The finish is hewn from aluminium in black, blue, copper white and silver white for RM599 by mid-June.

The midrange Nokia 5 variant has a slightly larger 5.2-inch HD display with 2.5D glass, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor running Nougat 7.1.1, 2GB RAM and 16GB of expandable internal storage along with a fingerprint reader. The rear camera on the Nokia 5 is a more capable 13-MP F/2.0 camera with phase detection autofocus and 1.12um micro pixels while the front has an 8-MP F/2.0  autofocus selfie snapper with 1.12um micro pixels. Externally, it comes in Tempered Blue, Silver, Matte Black and Copper for RM799 with all Malaysia variants shipping with Dual SIM card slots by the end of June.

The most premium offering they have is the Nokia 6. It has a 5.5-inch Full HD display, runs Android Nougat 7.1.1, a Snapdragon 430 processor paired with 3GB and 32GB of expandable storage four  colours: Matte Black, Tempered Blue, Silver and Copper and 4G LTE. The Nokia 6 integrates a 16-MP rear camera with 1.0um micro pixels, an F/2.0 aperture and dual tone flash. The front packs an 8-MP autofocus selfie camera with an F/2.0 aperture. For Malaysia, it ships in the dual SIM variant. The Nokia 6 retails in Malaysia for RM999 by the end of June with a higher end Arte Black version with 4GB RAM and 64GB of expandable storage coming in later on.

The coolest offering they have on offer was the classic Nokia 3310. Like its two decade sire, the 3310 is a feature phone albeit with several upgrades to keep with the times. A 2.4-inch 240×320 pixel screen, 16MB of expandable storage, a rear 2-MP camera, the classic T9 physical keypad and a 1,200mAh battery juiced via a microUSB port with a  insane endurance at over 22 hours of quoted talk time. And yes, it comes with a new incarnation of Snake to pass the time on the commute. It does have 2.5G data and Bluetooth though it lacks Wi-Fi connectivity. It ships for RM239 in four colours: red, yellow, black and silver for the first week of June.
