MSI launches new notebook line-up with Nvidia’s smoking hot GeForce GTX-series cards

Gaming on a notebook has just gotten a whole lot better as MSI has just launched the first of their new GS, GE and GT series notebooks that all pack one of Nividia’s new GTX-series cards – the GeForce GTX1080, the GTX1070or the GTX 1060 that offer desktop-grade gaming quality. The trio of cards are powerful enough to be considered desktop grade to the point that Nvidia has ditched the erstwhile M prefix on cards indicating a notebook optimised GPU.

MSI also took the opportunity to celebrate their 30th anniversary at the launch of their new notebook range at Low Yat Plaza

The new MSI notebooks are all also VR ready with support for the HTC Vive and the Oculus Rift so that you’re able to get your virtual gaming fix on. The new rigs don’t come cheap but neither does awesomeness with the most expensive rig topping out at a wallet-destroying RM20,999. Aesthetically, they’re all have MSI’s aesthetic hallmarks – brushed metal trim, the classic dragon logo emblazoned on the top lid, eerie neon backlighting and muscular, angled edges akin to a muscle car if one were wrought into the form of a notebook. Here’s a quick look at what they launched:

MSI GT83VR Titan SLI (RM,20999)
At the top of the totem pole, the GT83VR Titan SLI is a mammoth 4K gaming rig that ditches such quaint concepts as prudence or frugality and goes all out with an actual full sized backlit desktop style keyboard with sweet Cherry MX mechanical switches, a Dynaudio speaker system along with an ESS Sabre Hi-Fi DAC that offers Hi-Res audio support. The display is a gorgeous 18.4-inch 1080p along with support for 3 external displays. The hardware is like a checklist of gear that an aspiring power gamer would die for – an Intel Core i7-6820HK processor, a whopping 32GB of DDR4RAM, 512GB NVMe storage paired with a 1TB hard disk in a Raid 4 configuration and not one but two NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 cards. Sure, it’s not cheap at RM20,999 but your bragging rights will go through the roof for this aptly named gaming titan.
