Leica’s endearing Sofort instant camera to hit the market this November

While Leica is best known for making top-shelf gear with a commensurately impressive price tag, they’ve just changed gears and have come up with an instant camera to cater to the masses. Enter the the rather cute looking SOFORT camera.

Leica’s SOFORT comes in three colours – white, a brilliant shade of yellow and a shade of mint and uses instant developing Instax film for instant gratification. The SOFORT comes with a 60mm f/12.7 lens and has a mechanical shutter with a speed of 1/8 – 1/400 seconds with a built-in flash, an optical viewfinder along with a 2 or 10-second self timer.

The SOFORT also comes with a selection of modes on top of the usual auto mode like Sports & Action, Macro, Party & People as well as a smattering of selfie mode options that work in tandem with the aforementioned self timer mode. To frame selfies, the SOFORT has a little rectangular mirror on the front.

The SOFORT will hit the Leica store and other authorised dealers in Malaysia from November 2016 for RM1,260 inclusive of GST. There’s no word on the price of film packs for it but it will come in 10-pack and 20-pack sizes for colour and 10-pack sizes for monochrome film.
