The goal of KIPS is not to train managers on the threat landscape – we don’t want to replace cybersecurity officers. The goal that KIPS fulfills is to help managers cooperate better in the event of a cybersecurity and to save money on incident recovery costs. With KIPS Online we bring the much required flexibility to the training process and the ability to involve senior management at large multi-national corporations,” said Slava Borilin, security awareness programme manager at Kaspersky Kab.

Previously available offline as an interactive boardgame dubbed as KIPS Live, the KIPS simulation offers useful lessons in security intelligence and emphasises two critical challenges that senior management must adopt to survive  – the understanding that there is a lack of time to respond decisively in cybersecurity incidents and the need for fast, decisive solutions. The KIPs simulation when played online involves participants operating an interactive IT facility and managing different teams to maintain the financial viability of the organisation while dealing with a series of realistic cybersecurity challenges.

In a more intangible fashion, the KIPS simulation, both online and offline also showcases to organisations that there is a real and demonstrable return-on-investment when it comes to investing in IT security. By playing the KIPS simulation, decision makers are able to save on IT security costs with swift action as there’s less time and money spent on cleaning up afterwards.

“Businesses in Malaysia should be ready to tackle one of the toughest threats in every industry – cybercrime. We are bringing our KIPS Online to Malaysia to show the corporate workforce the importance of teamwork in incident response and cyberthreat mitigation. KIPS Online keeps the fun in learning how online cybersecurity threats work, how companies should respond to an attack and how it could be mitigated through this two-hour interactive game,” said Siang Tiong Yeo, general manager at Kaspersky Lab Southeast Asia.

Both the KIPS Online and KIPS Live boardgame are available on request from Kaspersky Lab and its authorised resellers globally as part of their Security Awareness Training family of service.
