HP’s latest Sprocket 2-in-1 may just be the ultimate camera for those seeking instant gratification. It takes last year’s Sprocket compact photo printer and bolts a rear camera on the rear so you can take shots and then have them instantly printed out in seconds. We saw it earlier this month in a sneak preview though it’s now officially available in Malaysiia.

The Sprocket 2-in-1 isn’t going to outgun a smartphone but its 5-MP camera should be adequate for selfies and casual use and it has a flip-up viewfinder to frame shots which are then saved onto a microSD card. If the whim strikes you, you can print snaps out on HP’s inkless Zink Zero Ink paper.

Before you print it out though, you can still tweak shots off the HP Sprocket app on your smartphone – your choice of either iOS or Android – which pairs up with the Sprocket 2-in-1 camera/printer via Bluetooth to add in all the usual filters, emojis, frilly borders and the like. Sounds par for the course but what makes it nifty is that it has a “Relive Memories” feature that allows users to scan a picture and draw content be it video or social media feeds related to that photo for you to experience again. Nifty.

HP has also launched a Sprocket Plus that prints out photos that are 30% larger though it also needs its own unique Zink Zero Ink paper sized correctly for its more voluminous dimensions.

The Sprocket 2-in-1 retails for RM649 while the Sprocket Plus is available for RM599. The existing Sprocket is also still available for RM529. HP is also running a content from now until 4 March 2018 dubbed the “HP Be My Valentine” campaign that lets you win a ton of sweet swag. For more details check out their Facebook page here.
