Like other instant cameras from the line, the whole affair takes in film packs to capture instant self-developing credit card sized snaps. The Mini 9  is powered by a pair of AA batteries and takes the aforementioned snaps via a two-element F=60mm lens with an 1/60 sec shutter speed with a built-in flash that has a maximum range of 2.7 meters. To pander to narcissists, the camera has a reflective mirror next on the front to properly compose your shot before your press the shutter release. It also notably has a flip-down lens attachment for close-up shots up to 35cm away and a ‘High-key mode’ that lets you take softer and brighter snaps. The mini 9 retails for RM348 nationwide.

The Square SQ10 is a slightly different beast from the mini 9 as it’s effectively a digital camera with the ability to take instant snaps as you so desire. The camera suits both southpaws and right handers alike as it has left and right double shutter buttons and a centre mounted lens.

Shots are captured on the 1/4-inch CMOS sensor which has a 28.5mm fixed focal length lens (35mm equivalent) and an F/2.4 aperture to snag 1920 x 1920 pixel JPEGs. Shots are framed on the rear 460K pixel 3-inch display and up to 50 snaps can be saved on internal memory with more via a microSD card. Saved shots can be printed at any time. The camera also has several artistic modes including a double exposure mode, a close-up macro mode at a range of 10cm, the ability to stack four or nine images in a mosaic-style print and a ‘bulb’ mode that releases the shutter while it is pressed. The SQ10 retails for RM1,328.Both cameras are at all good retailers available nationwide.
