Almost 7 in 10 Malaysians are on mobile and Malaysians have the highest number of smartphone users in Southeast Asia with 49.2% of mobile phone users possessing a smartphone by the end of 2016. The effectiveness of Facebook was shared by Eugene Lee, Senior Marketing Manager of McDonald’s Malaysia. “McDonald’s Malaysia recognises that great work delivered on mobile has incredible power to move people to stop, discover and act. And if mobile moves people, it’ll move business. That’s why we are going mobile first with our upcoming Big Mac Chant Challenge campaign that launches on 13 October in Malaysia. For the first time ever, we will not be investing any budget in television or print, because we believe that digital and mobile platforms such as Facebook have become so mass that it allows us to achieve high reach with maximum efficiency. We’ll be promoting the Big Mac Chant Challenge on Facebook with Canvas and Video Ads in collaboration with Facebook Creative Shop to ensure that our creatives are tailored specifically for mobile over the promotion period.”

Another interesting success story was Honor Malaysia who reached 15.5 million people in Malaysia with their targeted link ads. To find out more about Facebook’s success stories check out their site here.
