Acer’s launches revamped Spin 5 notebook and more

Acer just announced the debut of a refreshed, spiffy new incarnation of their Spin 5 convertible that’s slimmer than ever before while packing the latest 8th generation Intel processors. Also making an appearance is a revamped variant of their Swift 3 notebook that comes with an NVIDIA GeForce MX150 graphics card as well as the debut of a compact all-in-one that’s ideal for casual users and a humongous, slick gaming monitor dubbed the XR382CQK. Acer Spin 5
Acer’s latest refresh of the Spin 5 comes with either a 13.3-inch or 15.6-inch Full HD touchscreen mounted on a dual-torque hinge that lets you convert it from a traditional notebook to either display, tent and tablet mode as needed. The Spin 5 has also undergone a slimming programme, weighing just 1.5kg and is thinner than its immediate predecessor by 21% with the 13.3-inch Spin 5 measuring in at 15.9mm while the larger 15.6-inch variant is just 17.9mm thin. Under the hood, the Spin 5 comes in three subconfigurations.

The entry level model comes with an 8th gen Intel Core i5 processor, 8GB RAM, a 256GB SSD and a 13.3-inch 1080P touchscreen for RM3,599. The midrange model upgrades this with a swifter 8th gen Intel Core i7-8550U processor for RM4,399. The highest end model packs a 15.6-inch Full HD touchscreen and upgrades this with a dedicated NVIDIA GTX1060 graphics card for RM4,999.

Regardless of configuration, all variants of the Spin 5 also integrates front-facing speakers enhanced with Dolby Audio tech that orients the audio toward you regardless of whichever mode you deploy the Spin 5 in.

The Spin 5 also has a quartet of mikes and their Acer Purified Far-Field voice tech to allow for you easier voice commands to Cortana from up to 4 meters away. All variants of the Spin 5 are available for sale at authorised dealers nationwide and come with the Acer Active stylus that has 1,024 levels of pressure sensitivity.

Acer Swift 3
Acer’s light workhorse rig has undergone a refresh and their largest variant with the 15.6-inch Full HD display now sports NVIDIA’s new GeForce MX150 GPU. The rest of the hardware consists of  an Intel Core i5-8250U processor paired with 8GB RAM and storage needs are taken care of by a 256GB SSD.

The notebook comes with all the trimmings including Windows Hello, 2×2 MU-MIMO 802.11ac wireless for nippier connectivity and it offers ten hours of battery life in the field before needing a recharge. The Swift 3 retails for RM4,299 and can be had in either Stellar Blue or Steel Grey.

Acer Aspire C22 All-In-One
This compact all-in-one rig comes with extremely slim bezels bordering the 21.5-inch Full HD display and runs Windows 10 Home on an Intel Core i3-7100U processor with 4GB RAM and also packs a 1TB hard disk. This can be beefed up to 16GB RAM and a generous 2TB hard disk with a 256GB SSD.

Connectivity needs are sorted out via a pair of USB 2.0 ports, a pair of USB 3.0 ports, an Ethernet port and a HDMI port. It also ships with a complimentary USB keyboard and mouse so you can get started using it out of the box. The Aspire C22 retails for RM2,399 and will hit stores and etailers nationwide in November for the stock variant with 4GB RAM and a 1TB hard disk.

Acer XR382CQK Monitor
Acer’s edifice to gaming is a 37.5-inch behemoth with a 21:9 aspect ratio screen and a 2300R curvature to offer a wider field of view. The monitor is adjustable and rocks  an ultrawide QHD+ resolution which translates to 3,840 x 1,600 pixels.and also sports AMD adaptive sync tech for smoother gaming and video playback along with 100% sRGB colour gamut support as well as their BlueLightShield and Flicker-less tech to minimise eye fatigue.. The monitor also integrates a pair of built-in 7W speakers for audio and the whole affair retails for RM4,999.
